Rev. Dr. Brandon McLauchlin
Rev. Dr. Brandon D. McLauchlin is the pastor of the historic St. Charles AME Zion Church in Sparkill, New York.
At 17 years old, as a senior in high school, Dr. McLauchlin started his preaching ministry. He has spent the past years reaching, teaching and preaching to the people of God.
Dr. McLauchlin is a graduate of Fayetteville State University, Fayetteville, North Carolina. His degree is in General Music. He graduated from Campbell University Divinity School, Buies Creek, North Carolina with a Masters of Divinity degree. Additionally, he graduated from Drew Theological School, Madison, New Jersey with a Doctor of Ministry Degree.
Dr. McLauchlin has held many positions in the church. He is the director of evangelism for the Westchester District of the AME Zion Church. Previously, he was an instructor for the 2nd Year Local Preachers class on the Fayetteville District of the AME Zion Church, a member of the South Eastern Regional Steering Committee of the AME Zion Church, the assistant pastor of New Bethel AME Zion Church, Fayetteville, NC, and pastor of Chapel Grove AME Zion Church, Fayetteville, NC.
Dr. McLauchlin relocated to Rockland County in 2017 to serve as the Pastor of the historic and esteemed St. Charles AME Zion Church in Sparkill, New York. Since his arrival Dr. McLauchlin has conveyed a central message of ‘Loving God, Loving People” while leading and fostering the concept of a “giving church”, that encourages members to remain engaged in the process of giving back to the community.
Under the leadership of Dr. McLauchlin, St Charles has successfully conducted drives to collect food, socks, pampers and school supplies, the items collected were given to local nonprofits including: People to People, The Martin Luther King Center, The Warming Center, and Loeb House. In addition, he and his congregation revitalized a vegetable garden at M.A.D.E, a transitional home in Spring Valley, and made monetary donations to Head Start of Rockland and Birth Right located in Nanuet.
In recognition of his 15th ministerial anniversary and his tireless efforts to serve and empower people, November 28th, 2021, was declared, and proclaimed The Reverend Doctor Brandon D. McLauchlin Day in Rockland County.
