He also served at the same church under the leadership of Pastor Emeritus Elder Sarah Allen, late Elder Anthony Via, Sr., the Senior Pastor who also went home to be with the Lord in November of 2023.
At a very young age, his mother used to always say,” you are going to be a singer and a preacher.” Although not a licensed clergy, he has and still on occasions when called upon, shares the Gospel through the preached Word.
David served as 1st Assistant to the late Bishop Ernest Buxton Sr. for 8 years with the Rockland County Ministers Alliance Mass Choir and now serves as President for the past 12 years.
In 1993, he sang on “Raise the Praise” Live recording Produced by Dr. Raymond Wise for Raise Productions in Columbus, OH as part of the choir. As the Minister of Music and Praise & Worship Leader, he counts it an honor and privilege to be responsible to help set the atmosphere for the move of the Holy Spirit. His passion and mission are to continue to teach others the purpose of worship through song and to understand what you are singing about.
It is important that we don’t just sing the Gospel, but that we also do our best to live it. He is inspired by these words; “When the music stops, that’s when I live my song… When we say Amen, and the crowd begins to fade away. That’s when I live the life that I sing about in my song.” – The late Pastor Darryl Coley. “…If this world never applauds my name, if this world never rewards me, with star on the walk of fame and if never get the credit for all the good I do, I’ll keep working, I’ll be true to you…” – Kurt Carr “I stood behind in the shadows, poised in the dark backstage , destiny brought me this moment, and over me the curtains raised” – Bishop T.D Jakes “…And when people ask how going to do, when I do what God told me to...For the rest of my life I'm not making sense, I'm making faith.” Donald Lawrence
He endeavors to always live by Psalms 34:1 “I will bless the Lord at all times: HIS Praise shall continually BE in my mouth!”
